(AP Photo/Jae C. Hong) Celtics fans can look forward to seeing Brian Scalabrine analyze Doc Rivers and the Boston Celtics next season. It's not nice to wish ill will on others, but in Brian Scalabrine's case, I hoped he would not find another NBA playing job. Not because I hated Scalabrine's hair color or overlooked what he could contribute to a good team -- at the end of a team's bench, Scalabrine never complained and always prepared himself for whatever opportunities came his way, earning respect from those who could see through his "victory cigar" image to what he actually provided to every team he played for. I just wanted Scalabrine to continue analyzing Boston Celtics games for Comcast Sports New England, in which role his humor and basketball knowledge makes him a hit. It looks as though I've gotten my wish. After receiving zero interest from NBA teams wanting him as a player -- "Not some, but zero, " Scalabrine told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, probably in his typically self-deprecating manner -- Scalabrine has turned down an offer to join the Chicago Bulls coaching staff in favor of returning to Comcast Sports as a Celtics analyst.
