Hi everyone, Some background information to begin: I currently work as a customer support representative for a big company (think fortune 500 with many different divisions whose facilities are all over the world); benefits like 401K (3% employer match) and vacation (2 weeks) are pretty decent. I'm an hourly employee and make ~$32k a year. Yearly raises are typically 3%. Hours are 7-4pm with 1 hour lunch but can be pretty flexible in that if I need to do something I can leave early/skip lunch/come in late/etc. They only really care about me completing my tasks and sticking to 40 hours (they don't like us working overtime but I can ask and be approved for it when things are crunch time). Corporate culture is all right and office politics aren't really a thing. If office politics is present, I don't pay attention because I'm busy grinding at my desk. I currently am located in CT (close to family/friends and near cool major cities like NYC/Boston, and DC/Philly are definitely drivable too).

It also helps them to understand that when shit happens, I'm going to bat for them (as much as I can while keeping my company's actual goals in mind) and not blowing smoke up their asses when I say I'm doing stuff (like sending tons of emails and making calls to get answers) and nothing visible happens immediately. For one major client, I've developed a very good rapport with the buyer and we have an ongoing side conversation where we talk about things like what she or I have been up to or food or sharing cat pictures (if it's not clear, I am a woman by the way). I want to impress that I never air internal dirty laundry or talk about work with her in these side conversations like I would with any old person; these side communications are strictly for fun and to get to know one another as people behind our roles and titles. I will call this buyer Veronica. I think personally that Veronica is a good person and I have a good amount of admiration for her. Professionally, she is an easy client to work with and is patient/understanding.
If not outright offered a job, should I add at the end of the interview that I am currently applying to several jobs and am waiting to hear back from them? This DEC job has already sent me an email stating what projects I would be working on if offered the job (emails were sent during weekend and today, Memorial day). (I am applying to many jobs, but none look as solid as these two). I would appreciate the advice on how I should handle the interview and the questions stated above. Thank you.
First, your name, email, and phone number, should be listed, so my teacher could have reference as to who to call and the such. Let's get started with the questions! How did you get your job as an architect? What is your favorite part about your job? What is your least favorite part? Do you have a degree? If so, which degree and where from? Why did you choose to be an architect? How long have you been an architect? Would you recommend this job to anyone and why? What projects have you worked on in the past, if any? How is the work environment? (Boring, exciting, stressful etc) How long did it take to get to the position where you are now? I know these questions are somewhat cheesy but if you can answer them, I would be very thankful. If you feel that these questions are a bit to personal but still want to help, you can email me at.

I'm not too excited about angular 10. Engine optimizations are nice and the date picker will be cool. That's about all I care about though" will show that they were interested enough to at least glance at it. Finally, my manager always asks 2 nutty questions. 1 is something that would've come up recently between the 2 of us that neither of us had a great understanding of (usually because its niche as hell) and the other is an ancient data manipulation question he gives everyone regardless of what position they're going for. Its extremely easy to answer for any moderate level sql dev. Its a fair question for a full-stack. Its brutal for a front-end dev. idk why he does it.

Due to today being a federal holiday no one is working so I can't hear anything from them. The job application closed on Friday and I submitted the application on the Wednesday before. Should I call the office on Tuesday or later in the upcoming week to inquire? I know the people there, would it be too informal or rude of me to do so? I also don't want to be presumptuous. I have an interview for another job tomorrow (Tuesday). The job is a 6 month position and pay is a big cut to what I currently make as well as vastly inferior to the other job. There are no benefits to this job. It's a seasonal with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. The job itself would be enjoyable but because of the low pay it will be a struggle for my bills and finding a place to live. The second job is more of plan B for me, something to fall back on. But I don't want to come across as ungrateful and rude during the interview. How would I bring up that I'm waiting to hear back from another job if I'm offered a position?
